Union Industry Minister vows to boost edible oil production

Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than inspected six oil mills in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During his meetings with oil mill officials, he emphasized the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation’s dedication to achieving the yield target for edible oil crops by designating specific plantation zones. Additionally, he underscored the Ministry of Industry’s pledge to support oil millers in enhancing production capacities.
Emphasizing the significance of adhering to high manufacturing standards and minimizing waste, he mentioned the government’s provision of loans from development funds to foster growth in the edible oil sector.
Subsequently, the Union minister met with officials at the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
He directed officials to ensure that the information of registered oil mills accurately reflects the ground reality, emphasizing workplace safety, health standards, and environmental friendliness. He additionally requested officials to share the process for producing high-quality oil and providing support to oil millers in this endeavour. — MNA/NT
