Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw yesterday participated in the opening ceremony of the “Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange”, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China in Chongqing, China. He joined fellow regional science and technology ministers at the event.
Following the opening ceremony, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw engaged in a cordial meeting with young scientists during the “Belt and Road Forum”, a platform dedicated to nurturing young scientific talent. Emphasizing the significance of research and creativity for the future of the world and humanity, he encouraged young scientists to unite and enhance their collective strength and capabilities. This, he noted, would enable them to contribute positively to addressing the challenges facing our planet.
Dr Myo Thein Kyaw then participated in a meeting of regional science and technology ministers. The discussions revolved around the themes of “Building Closer Cooperation on Science, Technology, and Innovation” and “Towards Innovation-Driven Development”. He also attended a dinner hosted by Prof Yin Hejun, Minister of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, along with other local science and technology ministers. — MNA/TS
