Over 15,000 people in Kyaukpyu vaccinated with 1st dose of COVID jab

A total of 15,295 people have been vaccinated against the 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine (second batch) in Kyaukpyu, Rakhine State, officials said.
The vaccination programme was conducted at designated priority groups at the sandalwood hall at No3 Basic Education High School in Kyaukphyu yesterday.
Healthcare workers, members of the fire brigade, and volunteers assisted in the vaccination programme and transportation for the vaccinated people were arranged after the vaccination.
During the vaccination, healthcare workers and officials made records for the vaccinated people.
Next health officials measured the body temperature, blood pressure and monitoring oxygen level before the vaccination.
Vaccines were given systematically to the local people, and only those with normal health conditions are vaccinated, officials said.
After resting for about 30 minutes after being vaccinated, people were allowed to leave, officials said.
In Kyaukpyu Township, the second batch of the vaccine (first dose) has been given since 18 September.
As of 29 September, a total of 15,295 people had been vaccinated, and the rest were being vaccinated in priority groups.
The vaccination was administered by the chairman of the district administration and officials from various departments, District and Township Women’s Affairs Committee members and Maternal and Child Welfare Association members inspected and gave words of encouragement to the vaccinated people. —Tin Htun Oo/GNLM
