The Department of Cooperative has announced that over K2 billion from the State Economic Promotion Fund will be utilized for a loan programme to acquire fertilizers. Inputs will be formed for over 11,000 acres of summer paddy plantations in the Ayeyawady Region.
The loan programme will provide loans to farmers in 26 townships in the Ayeyawady Region.
“We plan to provide inputs and fertilizers to farmers who will plant summer paddy. This programme aims to offer loans to farmers in 26 townships in the region through cooperative societies.
”The loans will be provided specifically for the purchase of fertilizers and inputs. Furthermore, these loans can be paid back in the form of crops once the harvest is complete. Implementing this plan will involve cooperative societies and groups, which will sign contracts with farmers through the associated companies,” said U Htay Myint Aung, head of the Department of Cooperative of Ayeyawady Region.
