Over K470 million worth of 90 heroin blocks weighing 31.5 kilogrammes was captured in Pinlaung township in Shan State, the Myanmar Police Force stated.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force searched a Surf driven by Saw Htay Oo headed to Tatkon from Pinlaung on Pinlaung-Tatkon road in Pinlaung township at noon on 30 August.
The offender admitted the seized drugs were to be carried from Shan State to Kayin State.
The police have taken legal action against the offender and an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime chain. — MNA/MKKS
