Over US$13 mln received from exports via Kawthoung border in March

Myanmar carried out border trade worth US$13.687 million with Thailand via the Kawthoung border between 1 and 19 March, statistics by the Ministry of Commerce indicated.
Kawthoung border saw 11,732 tonnes of export worth $11.905 million and 1,097 tonnes of imports worth $1.782 million, totalling $13.687 million.
Myanmar exports fishery products to neighbouring Thailand under the FOB system. Exports surpassed imports at the Kawthoung border. The main export items are fisher products such as shrimp, dried fish, crab, dried and fresh squid, cuttlefish, fish meal, cashew and oil palm, and tapioca starch, ceramic tiles, salt, steel wire, diesel, Octane, silicon, Sulphur, alum, charcoal powder, water purifier, spare parts for swimming pool, nylon rope, fishing net, edible bird’s nest and parts of a ship are imported. — TWA/EM
