Police seized ballots, seals bearing UEC symbol from former Homalin Ward election sub-commission chair

The security forces raided the house of U Bo Chit, former chairman of Homalin ward election sub-commission in Homalin Township of Hkamti District of Sagaing Region, on 2 July according to the tip-off that he kept homemade bombs at his house.
The police seized two ballot books containing 50 ballot papers and three seals bearing the UEC symbol used for Pyithu Hluttaw in the 2020 General Election. The suspect U Bo Chit is still at large and the officials transferred the seized electoral materials to the Homalin Township election sub-commission office.
The current UEC announced on 29 May that it found 7,822 missing ballots and 3,857 extra ballots in Homalin Township. — MNA
