Preparations underway for natural disasters

The relevant officials should make preparations for recuses and rehabilitation processes if the cyclone hits the country, said Yangon Region Chief Minister at the natural disaster management committee meeting on 5 May.
The depressions occur in the South China Sea and Bay of Bengal and are expected to hit Myanmar. Therefore, the natural disasters management activities such as public notice, media methods to inform the marine workers, access to true information by cooperating with relevant wards/villages administrators and rehabilitation processes based on the received news, said the chief minister, in his capacity as chairman of Yangon Region Natural Disaster Management Committee.
He also talked about the proper transportation system for relief items, relocation of cyclone centres, healthcare services and detailed plans of respective working committees regarding the rescue works and response to the disasters. — TWA/KTZH
