Rise in forex rate leads to increase in EPS-TOPIK registration fee

Due to the increase in the foreign currency exchange rate, the registration fee for the Korean language proficiency test (EPS-TOPIK), which is payable in kyats, has risen compared to previous rates.
“Because of the high price of the dollar, when we had to pay the exam fee in Myanmar currency, it was higher than the previous fee,” Ko Zaw Htet from North Okkalapa township, who paid the EPS-TOPIK exam fee, told The Global New Light of Myanmar (GNLM).
The examination registration fee is set at US$28 per person, and applicants are required to pay an equivalent amount in kyats, depending on fluctuations in the dollar’s value.
The EPS-TOPIK registration fee is scheduled to be paid from 19 March to 5 April, and it has been reported that the number of applicants for the exam this year is nearly 75,000. — TWA/MKKS
