Russian delegation calls on Nay Pyi Taw Mayor, Vice-Mayor

Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Mayor U Than Tun Oo receives the Chairman of the External Relations Committee of the Government of St Petersburg yesterday.

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair Mayor U Than Tun Oo received a delegation led by Mr Grigoriev Evgeny Dmitrievich, Chairman of the External Relations Committee, member of the Government of St Petersburg, Russia, at the council office yesterday.
At the meeting, increased multi-sectoral cooperation was discussed regarding the friendship between Myanmar and Russia, industrial production, service and value-added manufacturing sectors, hotels and tourism sectors, farm-based businesses, and the agricultural sector for cooperation in the development of industrial and investment sectors.
After the meeting, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair and the Chairman of the External Relations Committee, member of the Government of St Petersburg, Russia, exchanged gifts.
The Russian delegation also had a meeting with the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee Vice-Chair Vice-Mayor U Maung Maung to discuss increased cooperation to promote friendship between the governments as well as people of the two countries and cooperation between the two cities, namely, Nay Pyi Taw and St Petersburg in the development efforts. The permanent secretary of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee U Myo Aung and officials also attended the meeting.
After the meeting, the parties exchanged gifts before Vice- Mayor U Maung Maung hosted a dinner at the Jasmine Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw. — MNA/TH
