Russian delegation led by External Relations Committee Chairman Mr Grigoriev Evgeny Dmitrievich, a member of the St Petersburg Government, visited the world’s tallest Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
First, the Russian delegation visited the Buddha Image and observed the 24 special chambers around the platform of the Buddha Image, Agga Dhipati Sasana Beikman and stone plaques bearing inscriptions on Tri Pitaka treatises in Pali and Romanized languages in stone plaque chambers on which small pagodas are built.
Then, they headed to the white elephant shed in the precinct of the pagoda and fed the white elephants.
Moreover, they went to Maniyadana Jade Hall to observe the sale of pearl lots, jade, jewellery and raw jade at the 2023-Mid Myanmar Gems Emporium.
In the evening, Mr Dmitry Krutoy, Chief Special Officer of the Department of International Relations of External Relations Committee and Director Vladimir M Moiseyenko of NP Napalkov Centre for Oncology of St Petersburg went to Yangon General Hospital.
At the Training Centre of the hospital, Dr Thida Hla, Reactor (Medical Superintendent/Treatment) greeted them and other Professors/Department Heads of the Department of Medical Oncology and Department of Radiation Oncology and explained the processes of departments.
Then, the Russian delegation clarified the work processes of the Napalkov Centre, technological exchange and cooperation for the medicinal development of the two countries.
They also observed the cancer department that offers treatment with radiation, Brachytherapy, PET/CT, Cyclotron Centre and wards for patients.
Additionally, Mr Grigoriev Evgeny Dmitrievich-led delegation visited the Shwedagon Pagoda. — MNA/KTZH
