Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Russian Orthodox Archbishop His Eminence Sergiy of Metropolitan of Singapore and South-East Asia at the parlour of the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
At the talks, they cordially discussed the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries for a long time and situations to undertake further improvement, exchange of culture and religious affairs, further cementing friendly relations between the two governments and people via religious ties, a plan underway to build a Russian Orthodox Church in Myanmar, construction of a Buddhist Centre and a Shwezigon replica temple in Russia, and building Maravijaya Buddha Image made of marble which would be the largest in the world and the Archbishop blessed Myanmar for development, peace and stability.
After the meeting, the Senior General and His Eminence Sergiy exchanged commemorative gifts and had documentary photos taken together with attendees. — MNA/TTA
