SAC Member advises women not to distance themselves from politics

State Administration Council member Daw Dwe Bu said, in a meeting with the Kachin State Women’s Affairs and Maternal and Child Welfare Association (WAMCWA) in Myitkyina yesterday, that women should engage in continuous learning and take part in creating a better country rather than viewing politics as a matter that does not belong to them.
The SAC member also highlighted the importance of capacity building and cultivating the morale of women, as half of Myanmar’s population comprises women. She also encouraged the attendees to participate in the efforts to increase income and improve the quality of life for women residing in Kachin State so that they may become good mothers full of capacity and fulfil their marital duties.
After that, the SAC member presented bouquets of honour to the chairperson, secretary, and three members of Kachin State WAMCWA, who won the awards for Excellence in Social Field for their enthusiastic participation in the activities of the State Women’s Affairs and Maternal and Child Welfare Association Supervisory Board.
Daw Dwe Bu also presented the Honorary Certificate/Award-Giving Ceremony in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Kachin State Day, held on the third day at the gymnasium of Myitkyina.
The ceremony presented awards for Excellence in Management Affairs (first, second and third class) to 135, awards for Excellence in Business Affairs (first, second and third class) to 29, awards for Excellence in Social Affairs (first, second and third class) to 153, certificates of honour to 262 and 25 winners for higher and basic education level essay and poem competitions. A total of 604 people were presented with respective awards and certificates of honor on 9-11 January. — Kachin State IPRD/TH
