SAC members attend ISR Judo competition 2022 opening ceremony

To emerge next-generation athletes and to advance the standard of Myanmar Judo sports, the opening ceremony of the Inter-State/Region Judo competition was held at Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium A at 9 am yesterday.
The ceremony was attended by SAC members Daw Aye Nu Sein, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U Moung Har, U Saw Daniel and Dr Banyar Aung Moe, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, deputy ministers, the Myanmar Judo Federation president and officials, administrators, coaches and athletes from competing teams.
Firstly, the Union minister expressed Judo is a Japanese traditional martial art and young people from Myanmar can catch with interest of youths. Judo sports awarded Myanmar with 25 golds, 62 silvers and 74 bronzes from the 3rd SEA Games 1965 to the 30th SEA Games 2019. It also received two silvers and two bronzes in Judo and one gold, one silver and two bronzes in Kurash in the 31st SEA Games. It is necessary for the Myanmar Judo Federation to maintain the good tradition of success by systematically training next-generation athletes from ISR competitions, he elaborated.
Followed by the opening ceremony, athletes recited four oaths of sports and SAC members, Union ministers and officials warmly greeted athletes. They watched the demonstration of the Judo competition (Man).
The 2022 ISR Judo Competition was held with 12 men’s teams and 13 women’s teams from ISR, with administrators and coaches from each team totalling 237. The tournament will be held at Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium A from 12 to 16 August and anyone can watch the competition for free. — MNA
