SAC Secretary attends 50th Anniversary of Mon State Day ceremony

SAC Secretary Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe presents prizes to the cultural troupes at yesterday’s event.

Secretary of the State Administration Council (SAC), Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe, along with SAC members and Union Ministers, participated in the 50th Anniversary of Mon State Day in Mawlamyine yesterday.
The event, held at Thamainbayan Field in Mawlamyine City, was graced by various dignitaries, including SAC members, Union ministers, the chief ministers of Mon and Kayin States, military commanders, and local officials. Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe read out a message from SAC Chairman PM Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, commemorating the occasion.
Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein delivered the closing remarks, and an awarding ceremony for the Gold Jubilee of Mon State Day was held at State Hall in Mawlamyine. Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein delivered a speech, and a video showcasing Mon State’s culture, traditions, and attractions was presented.
Following this, SAC members presented awards to the winners in various categories. Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung donated 150 solar sets to improve electricity access in Mon State.
Later, the SAC Secretary visited Fuxing Brother Rubber Industrial Co Ltd and Myanmar Lighting (IPP) Co Ltd’s factories to observe their operations.
In the evening, they enjoyed traditional Mon entertainment at Thamainbayan Field and attended a dinner in honour of Mon State Day. — MNA/TMT
