Some roads to be temporarily closed on Martyrs’ Day in Yangon

Some roads in Yangon will be temporarily closed during the 76th Martyrs’ Day ceremony, according to the Yangon Region Government.
During the ceremony from 4 am to the completion of the ceremony on 19 July, West Shwegondine Road will be closed from old Yedashe Road, Dhammazedi Road from U Wisara-Dhammazedi intersection and Inya Myaing intersection, Martyrs’ Road from West Shwegondine-U Wisara intersection and U Htaung Bo-Martyrs’ intersection, U Wisara Road from U Wisara Roundabout to U Wisara-Dhammazedi intersection. The road to the northern archway of the Shwedagon Pagoda (Thwaysaykan Road) will also be closed or a detour will be made.
In addition, Natmauk Road will be temporarily closed from the Wingaba intersection and from the Pho Sein intersection, Bogyoke Museum Road from the Ngahtetgyi Pagoda intersection, Bo Cho Road from the Shwe Kyat Yat intersection, Bogyoke Museum Road from Saw Maha intersection from 5 am to 6 pm on 19 to 21 July.
During the flag-hoisting ceremony to be held at the secretariat from 5 am to 6 pm on 19 July, Theinbyu Road will be closed from Bogyoke Junction, Anawrahta Road from Bo Myat Tun Junction, Maha Bandoola Road from Pansodan Junction, and Bo Aung Kyaw Road from Merchant Junction. — TWA/MKKS
