State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing is paying homage to the remains of zaygon Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kavisara yesterday.

State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing paid homage to the remains of Presiding Nayaka of Zaygon Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Pyinmana of Nay Pyi Taw State Ovadacariya Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Dr Bhaddanta Kavisara yesterday afternoon.
First, the Senior General paid homage to the remains of the Sayadaw kept at the Golden Jubilee Beikman Chamber of Zaygon Monastery.
After paying homage to Ovadacariya Sayadaws, the Senior General sought the words of advice from Ovadacariya Sayadaws for the plans to hold the final rites of the Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw.
Presiding Nayaka of Zaygon Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Pyinmana of Nay Pyi Taw State Ovadacariya Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Dr Bhaddanta Kavisara served the duty of State Ovadacariya. The Sayadaw established Maha Withutayama Zaygon Monastery in Pyinmana as the Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre. The Sayadaw gave lectures on Pariyatti literature to some 300 student monks until he passed away. The Sayadaw established U Buddho Tawya Yeiktha, where he himself took meditation and gave meditation guidelines to members of the Sangha and disciples and Yogis. The Sayadaw had served the Pariyatti and Pariyatti duties with earnest efforts while managing many branches of the monastery. The religious miracle Sayadaw passed away aged 95 and vasa 75.—MNA
