State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays homage to Maha Muni Buddha Image in Kengtung of Shan State (East), Saturathta Thumingala Pagoda on Loimwe hill station, views development of Loimwe region

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Council members and Union ministers, yesterday morning paid homage to Maha Muni Buddha Image in Kengtung of Shan State (East) and Saturathta Thumingala Pagoda on the Loimwe hill station and viewed development tasks in Loimwe region.
The Senior General and party under the auspices of Presiding Nayaka of the Thiladhamma Kontha Tawya monastery (Wasipeik) Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kovida paid homage to the Maha Muni Buddha Image of Kengtung and offered flowers, water and oil lights. Then, the Senior General presented K77.1 million donated by well-wishers to Chairman U Sai Haung Kham Nwam of the pagoda board of trustees and party.
At Saturathta Thumingala Pagoda on the Loimwe hill station, the pagoda board of trustees’ chairman and party welcomed the Senior General and party. The Senior General and party paid homage to the Pagoda and then donated flowers, water and oil lights to the pagoda and donated cash to the all-round renovation fund of the pagoda to members of the pagoda board of trustees. The Senior General signed the visitors’ book and paid homage to hill missionary Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vepulla and donated cash for nine prerequisites and offerings. The Senior General and party went round the pagoda clockwise and instructed officials to maintain the pagoda for long term existence.

The Senior General and party arrived at the historic 100-year chamber where they viewed the history of Loimwe city and significant places with documentary photos. After inspecting maintenance of the 104-year chamber for its sustainability and the Senior General instructed officials to maintain utensils in the building in original works and left necessary instructions.
The Senior General and party inspected the dredging of the Loimwe Lake, maintenance and upgrade tasks, and storage of water at the Kaunghmutaw Dam.
The Senior General instructed officials to constantly maintain the Loimwe Lake as a natural gift for the Loimwe hill station for its sustainability, conserve forests in the watershed area, cleanse bushes in the areas for ensuring a beautiful environment and good ventilation, carry out thinning of trees and upgrade the uphill road to the Loimwe hill station.

The Senior General and party arrived at the site where the sky train station will be built from the Loimwe hill station to the Buddha Park in Pankwe Village for contribution to the regional development. In response to the reports of officials, the Senior General gave instructions for the construction of the car park and roads.
The Senior General and party viewed the site where the Kengtung Haw replica building will be built near the Nawngtong Lake and attended to the needs of officials. After inspecting maintenance of the Nawngtong Lake and upgrading of the bund road, the Senior General instructed officials to freely take physical exercises and upgrade the bund road for relaxation. — MNA
