Tatmadaw senior officers assist in rehabilitation efforts in Rakhine State

The State Administration Council has assigned senior military officers to supervise restoration work in the disaster-hit areas.
Brig-Gen Khin Zaw, currently in Minbya Township, MraukU District, along with officials, met with teachers, school heads and construction teams from the damaged schools at the township education office on 27 May to construct building of the school buildings before the schoolling season and then cooperated in the completion of school building construction. Next, they handed over rice and foodstuffs to locals from cyclone-affected areas at the office of the General Administration Department in Minbya Township and encouraged them.
Likewise, Brig-Gen Kyaw Kyaw Soe, who arrived in Myebon, MraukU District, and officials coordinated with the township disaster rehabilitation committee members for quick delivery of 13 items carried by the landing craft, which were provided by the Disaster Recovery Committee of the Rakhine State Government and well-wishers to people affected by the disaster yesterday.
In addition, Brig-Gen Aung Kyaw Moe, who arrived in Sittway Township, met with ward administrators and officials from social organizations at the meeting hall of the district GAD office for the collective clean-up activities in Sittway and coordinated the necessary things. — MNA/CT
