Team Myanmar holds draw in friendly match against Chinese Sichuan FC

The Myanmar national women’s team, which will compete in the first phase of the Asian Zone qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic women’s football tournament, is currently in China for a pre-tournament training programme, and taking exercises in Kunming City.
As the second friendly match, they yesterday played against the Sichuan FC team, and the result was a 1-1 draw.
The Sichuan FC ranked 8th in the last 2022 Chinese Women’s Super League, and is playing a friendly match against the Myanmar team as a pre-competition preparation for this season.
The Myanmar national women’s team used veteran players in the starting lineup, and substituted with young players with little experience.
The goals for Sichuan FC was scored by forward player Tang Han No 10 in the 53rd minute of the match, and the equalizer for team Myanmar was scored by Pont Pont Pyae Maung in the 82nd minute.
The Myanmar women squad will take training in China with 24 preliminary players until 24 March, and will continue to play against Changchun FC on 22 March as the third warm-up match. —KZL
