Thai King’s Sayadaw, Thai police general visit Botahtaung Pagoda

Sayadaw Somdet Phra Maharatchamongkhonlamuli Aiemsa Ard, the revered monk of the Thai King, along with Police General Chinnapat Sarasin, the deputy chief of the Thai police force, visited the Botahtaung Pagoda in Botahtaung Township, Yangon Region, on 8 March, according to U Aung Myat, a member of the pagoda’s board of trustees.
During their visit, Sayadaw Somdet Phra Maharatchamongkhonlamuli Aiemsa Ard, the Police General, and their entourage paid respects to the holy hair relic of Buddha, as well as to the Nan Oo Pagoda and the statues of Yawheeni Bo Bo Gyi and Sister Mya Nan Nwe. They made cash contributions amounting to K292,000, 38,100 baht, and US$400 for the application of gold leaf to the pagoda, in addition to offering flowers, water, and candle lights.
As a token of appreciation, the trustees presented the delegation with a certificate of honour and a photo of the sacred relic hair as a souvenir. — ASH/NT
