UEC concludes region/state-level voter lists management software training course

The winding up ceremony of the voter lists management software training course is in progress yesterday.

The closing ceremony of the region and state-level voter lists management software training course was organized at No 3 Tatmadaw transit centre (Ywataw) yesterday.
Speaking at the event, Union Election Commission Chair U Thein Soe said trainee officers should apply the voter list management system learnt on training days systematically. Perfect voter lists play a key role in holding the election successfully. The UEC launched the voter list correction processes in August 2021 and conducted verification of the ground population census across the nation between February and August 2022. The initial voter lists are checked with IVLS and systematically carried out the processes step by step including the cross-checking.
He then highlighted the needs to be carried out by region/state and district officers regarding the compiling of voter lists of respective townships and to be ready to hold the election as per the fifth number of the five-point roadmap.
He also talked about the adoption of a PR system in the coming election, continuous learning to confirm with the electoral system, issuance of laws and rules, recruitment, capacity-building training, polling stations and election materials estimate.
He called on attendees to study the election law and rules, emphasize election processes in order not to occur any mistakes and communicate between higher and lower levels in a timely manner.
He finally added that only with a free and fair election, will the dignity of the commission and country be uplifted. It should make efforts to be the elections to reflect the dignity of the country that explores the true desire of the people fairly.
