VUC futsal club claimed champion in the MFF Futsal League 1 on Friday after playing the play-off final match at the MFF Futsal Gymnasium.
After completion of the third final match, VUC defeated a 2-1 win over MIU to secure the championship trophy. Both teams played three final matches due to tying at one win each. The third final match became decisive for them, and VUC bagged the win in the third match.
In the first half, VUC could lead the match with more football possession than the opponent team. At 10 minutes, Naing Lin Tun Kyaw scored an opening goal, and Aung Zin Oo added one more for his team. MIU, which made many mistakes in football possession in the first half, tried hard to get a great chance to score a goal. So, Ampo scored an equalizer for MIU in the 28th minute.
Although MIU poured out the utmost effort to net more goals, VUC controlled the match. In the first final match, MIU won over VUC with a penalty decision, but VUC converted the results as a 2-1 win over MIU in the second and third final matches.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and ministers, President of Myanmar Football Federation U Zaw Zaw and officials presented prizes to relevant winners and winning teams, respectively. The Champion VUC team bagged a K10 million award and individual medals. — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
