Woman convicted of trafficking girls to China jailed

Those who trafficked girls to China were sentenced to 11 years in prison for human trafficking, according to the authorities.
Ma Kyu Kyu Khaing from Kyankhin Kwatthit, Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region told Ma …, 30-year-old and Ma …, 18-year-old from North Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region that her sister had married a Chinese man in China and was fine. Next, both of them were trafficked to Chinese men for allegedly earning K3.5 million if they marry a Chinese man.
The case was filed at the North Okkalapa Myoma Police Station; under Section 24 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law 919/2019, and also filed at the Eastern District Court.
On 3 February, Ma Kyu Kyu Khaing was sentenced to 11 years in prison under Section 24 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law. —MNA
