YR Tourism Committee boosts local employment with hotels, guesthouse licences

The Yangon Region Tourism Committee has issued licences for hotels and guesthouses, contributing to the creation of local job opportunities for 184 individuals.
During the 2/2023 meeting of the regional tourism committee held on 24 October, business licenses were granted to six hotels, along with one hotel construction permit, one guesthouse license, and one guesthouse construction permit.
These hotel and guesthouse businesses have a combined investment value of K23,111 million, and they are investments made by Myanmar nationals.
Furthermore, the committee also granted 102 tourism licences for domestic operations and 65 tourism business licences for overseas activities.
In the previous Regional Tourism Committee meeting 1/2023, six hotel business licenses and one guesthouse construction permit were approved.
As of October 2023, the Yangon Region Tourism Committee has approved an investment value of K33,178 million for the hotel sector, leading to the creation of job opportunities for 309 people. — TWA/CT
