People are promoting mask-wearing to protect themselves. In fact, everyone should wear a mask.
“Some people forget to wear masks. To raise awareness about this, we are distributing both pamphlets and masks free of charge.
Now the virus infection is increasing. I want people to know that “Prevention is better than cure,” said Yangon Region Transport Committee (YRTC) Joint Secretary U Lian Qingman.
Donors’ Cooperation
(YRTC) will be distributing pandemic awareness leaflets and face masks to those who have to travel in Yangon on weekends.
With the cooperation of donors, a total of more than 250,000 masks will be distributed, the YRTC Joint Secretary said.
Masks are being bought at exorbitant prices
“During the pandemic period, the prices of whatever you buy are skyrocketing. I am glad that know that YRTA is distributing masks and thank you very much for that.
Now we have to pay around 2,000 to 3,000 kyats to buy a box of masks. For those who have money, it does not hurt, but for ordinary people like us, that money is really a burden. Therefore, the public is very happy that YRTC is distributing the masks for free,” said a YBS passenger.
The Yangon Region Transport Committee (YRTC) distributed COVID-19 epidemiological awareness leaflets and masks free of charge around Sule Pagoda and near Sanpya Market in Thingangyun Township, Yangon yesterday.
