Zalun Manaungmyin Pagoda to host Matho Thingan weaving, offering ceremony in Tazaungdine

The Manaungmyin Pyitawpyan Pagoda in Zalun Township, Ayeyawady Region, will hold its 52nd Matho Thingan weaving and offering ceremony and Tazaungdine Lighting Festival from 25 to 27 November, according to the board of trustees of the pagoda.
The report further says that the Matho Thingan weaving ceremony is set to be held on 25 November (14th Waxing of Tazaungmone), and four groups of weavers will take part in weaving Matho Thingans.
The woven lotus Matho Thingans will be offered to the Manaungmyin Pyitawpyan Pagoda and three other Buddha images at 4 am on the full moon day of Tazaungmone (26 December).
Candlelights, electric lights, and oil lamps will also be presented at the pagoda for three days from 25 to 27 November. — ASH/TMT
