111,462 students take Physics, 17,207 students take History on 5th day of 2024 matric exam

The 2024 matriculation examination (new curriculum) continued on its fifth day yesterday. A total of 111,462 students sat for the Physics subject exam, and 17,207 students took the History subject exam across the nation, including overseas exam centres.
This year, a total of 835 exam centres, including 11 overseas exam centres and 824 exam centres at home, are open for students. Altogether, 111,462 students out of 125,870 registered students sat for Physics with 14,408 absentees. The number of students sitting for the exam was 88.55 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 20,651 students registered for History at two overseas exam centres and 707 exam centres at home, and 17,207 students sat for History with 3,444 absentees.
The number of students sitting for exams accounted for 83.32 per cent, according to the figures of the Ministry of Education. — MNA/KTZH
