The Ministry of Education has announced that students who were not given the opportunity to sit the matriculation examination due to security reasons will be able to retake the exams from 29 April to 6 May at the designated 17 exam centres of their choice.
It has been reported that this arrangement is a special programme that allows students to take the exam again.
Students will sit for Myanmar subject on 29 April, English on 30 April, Mathematics on 2 May, Chemistry or Geography on 3 May, Physics or History on 4 May, Biology or Economics on 6 May between 9 am and 12 pm at 17 exam centres of various states and regions.
“In the 2023-2024 academic year, students who were unable to take the exam due to security reasons will be able to retake it at the designated exam centres in the respective regions and states. Students have the right to choose the exam centres they like,” said the Union Minister for Education at educational meeting held on 28 March.
According to data from the Ministry of Education, 128,635 of the 146,523 students who registered to take the matriculation exam for the last 2023-2024 academic year were 128,635 so the number of students who took the exam hit 87.79 per cent.
As part of the particular programme, the Ministry of Education has announced that students who will be taking the matriculation exam must register at the 17 exam centres of their choice by 12 April. — TWA/KZL
