Outstanding students visit famous pagodas in Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone

The opening ceremony of the Outstanding Students Camp in Bagan took place in front of the camp in NyaungU Township, NyaungU District yesterday morning.
The ceremony was attended by U Myo Aung, Chief Minister of the Mandalay Region Government, Dr Zaw Myint, Deputy Minister for Education, the deputy director-general of the Regional Education Office, departmental officials, veteran outstanding students, school heads, teachers, outstanding students, supervisor teachers, and invited guests.
Initially, the Bagan’s Outstanding Students Camp was inaugurated by outstanding students, who took memorial photos.
Following this, the ceremony proceeded at the Heritage Hotel. U Myo Aung, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister, delivered a welcome speech. An outstanding student expressed gratitude on behalf of the Grade-9 outstanding students.
Later on, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister, the Deputy Minister for Education, and officials presented brooches to the outstanding students.
The outstanding students also planted a commemorative tree.
Afterwards, those students visited Manuha Pagoda, Mya Pagoda, Buu Pagoda, Thatbyinnyu Pagoda, Htilo Minlo Pagoda, and Shwezigon Pagoda.
Officials from the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Bagan Branch) provided explanations on the pagodas’ history, mural paintings, and architecture.—NyaungU District IPRD/TKO
