The closing ceremony of 140th Maha Pathana recitation was held at Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The Ovadacariya of pagoda Presiding Sayadaw of Pauk Myaing Monastery Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda, members of the Sanga, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun and wife, Deputy Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Brig-Gen Kyaw Soe Oo and members of the Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees attended the ceremony.
The deputy minister and party firstly took Nine Precepts from Pauk Myaing Sayadaw Bhaddanta Janinda and then members of the Sangha recited Parittas. The deputy minister and party also donated the offertories to the Sayadaws.
Then, the deputy minister and officials donated ‘Day meals’ to the Sayadaws. —MNA
