8th State Sangha Central Working Committee holds 6th meeting

The sixth meeting of the Eighth State Sangha Central Working Committee in progress yesterday in Yangon.

The 6th meeting of the Eighth State Sangha Central Working Committee was held at Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Mayangon Township of Yangon Region yesterday.
State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, State Sangha Central Working Committee member Sayadaws, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and other officials of relevant departments attended the meeting.
Before the meeting, the Union minister and party made cash donations to Sayadaws.
Secretary of State Sangha Central Working Committee Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa presided over the meeting, and Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Sihanada acted as the master of ceremonies.
After the ceremonial procedures, the MC Sayadaw presented the set dates (8, 9, and 10 March) for meetings and sought approvals from Ovadacariya Sayadaws.
Then, Patron Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa delivered Saraniya Ovada Gatha.
The Union Minister presented the religious affairs.
Then, the Sayadaws recorded the late State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Sayadaws and State Sangha Central Working Committee member Sayadaws between Taboung of 1384 ME and 1385 ME and approved the newly selected Sayadaws.
At noon, the summary records of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee conducted from Taboung 1384 ME to date were read out by Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Kodañña.
Moreover, the respective Sayadaws presented the reports of matters related to Vinicchaya, Sasana, and education of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, which was conducted in one year and concluded on the first day of the meeting.
Donor U Thein Maung and his wife, Daw Papa of the Sandi Traditional Medicine shop, offered alms for the whole day to the Sayadaws who attended the ceremony yesterday. — MNA/KTZH
