MoSWRR discusses celebration of International Women’s Day, reinstitution of Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement held a meeting on the celebration of International Women’s Day and reorganization of Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs yesterday.

During the meeting, Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine discussed the duties of the ministry that serves from the expectant mothers to elderly people including woman sector, the wide scope of social affairs and successive holding of state- level International Women’s Day since 2012 in the country.
The Union Minister mentioned the women’s power as the strength of the country. She also sought suggestions for the celebration of International Women’s Day that falls on 8 March amid COVID-19 pandemic.

The Director-General and Deputy Director-General of Social Welfare presented arrangement to hold International Women’s Day on 8 March 2021 and plans for the appointment and duty assignment of Myanmar National Committee for Women’s Affairs.

Then, the Permanent Secretary coordinated the discussion, and Union Minister instructed the necessary things.—MNA
