Terrorists destroy buildings, car in Payathonezu Ceti monastery in Amarapura

A group of 20 terrorists led by Myint Swe, a resident in Kanaw village, destroyed the monastery building and a vehicle in the Payathonezu Ceti monastery yesterday in Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region.
The incident reportedly happened because Sayadaw U Gotika, the abbot of the Monastery, was dissatisfied by them with the request to the security forces paving the road in Kanaw village to to the monastery on 25 April.
The Sayadaw had to flee from the monastery while the building was being destroyed. Due to the attack, the 12-foot-long wooden door, the entrance to the monastery, four glass windows and six wooden windows and the roof were damaged, and the window of the car was smashed.
It is reported that investigations are underway to take effective legal action against the perpetrators. — MNA
