MoSWRR Union Minister inspects preparations for coming monsoon

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine and Deputy Minister U Aung Tun Khine donated the offertories to Sayadaw U Pannacara of Myin Tha Myo Oo Parahita centre in South Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region.
The centre currently takes care of 371 children, and the ministry provided K54.897 million to Sayadaw for 2020-2021FY.
The Union Minister and party then visited the central warehouse of the Department of Natural Disaster Management in Mayangon Township.
During her visit, the Union Minister inspected the storing of relief materials and preparedness to distribute them.
Then, the region and warehouse heads reported on the storage system of relief items in respective regions/states warehouses, including Yangon.
The Union Minister highlighted the crucial role of a central warehouse (Yangon) in distributing the items to other regions and states for existing near the seaport.
There are several rivers and coastlines in lower Myanmar, the populated area. So the officials need to make preparations to protect from natural disasters in the rainy season.
The relevant departmental officials should conduct close cooperation in providing information and rescue works regarding natural disasters to the public in a timely manner. It also should make preparedness to form machinery to deliver relief supplies to the disaster-torn areas.
Then, the Deputy Minister coordinated the discussion. The Union Minister stressed the plan to install Inventory Management software system at the warehouses, including the central warehouse of Yangon. — MNA
