Rioters set fire on state-owned buildings and homes of the residents in townships of Magway Region, Sagaing Region and Bago Region on 14 May.
Due to arson attacks, two houses of the teachers from the Basic Education Primary School in Nhatpyarkyin village, Laungshay town, Gangaw Township, Magway Region. Su Paung checkpoint temporarily closed on YeU-Taze-Kalewa highway road in Taze Township, Sagaing Region, was destroyed by fire.
Rioters also threw fire bottles, and homemade bombs to two houses of the ward administrators in Madauk town, Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, at 1 am on 14 May. However, no explosion nor fire broke out.
It is reported that investigations are underway to identify and take action against the arsonists responsible for the violent acts.—MNA
