The Ministry of Health and Sports organized a coordination meeting for COVID-19 prevention yesterday.
Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win mentioned that all should consider the country’s infection rate in order to carry out COVID-19 prevention measures and public health awareness campaigns by cooperating with relevant region/state health officials. Although there is a low infection rate, it still needs to prepare staff and medical supplies to be ready when the highest confirmed cases are reported.
The Union Minister also discussed contact tracing processes, cooperation work between the states/regions administration councils/bodies and volunteers like Myanmar Red Cross Society, contract system and lab tests to be undertaken in regions/states hospitals, including systematic reporting system regarding health checks conducted at private hospitals and clinics.
Deputy Minister Dr Aye Tun then discussed COVID-19 prevention and treatment at hospitals in Yangon, organizing treatment management committees, human resources and volunteers. Other departmental heads respectively coordinated the discussion. – MNA
