Importation of oxygen tanks, anti-COVID-19 medicines and related materials continues

A total of 115 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 37 oxygen generators, 1,848 oxygen concentrators and 30 tonnes of masks were imported through the Yangon International Airport and border trade posts yesterday.
The government is allowing the continuous importation of oxygen, medicines and related materials that are in urgent need for the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities in the country.
Since 12 July, when the COVID-19 outbreak began to rise nationwide, priority is given to the importation of anti-COVID-19 medicines and related equipment. And relevant departmental officials are cooperating to facilitate and speed up the importation even during the period designated as public holidays.
As of yesterday, from July, a total of 557 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 62 tonnes of oxygen cylinders, 17,409 oxygen concentrators, 134,500 test kits and 450 tonnes of masks were imported, mainly from the Myawady Trade Zone and Muse Trade Zone. — MNA
