Kyungsu-Myeik ferry route to be suspended

Under the Township COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee Programme, the express water ferry services are being halted from 21 July to 25 July to make COVID-19 disease prevention and control more effectively.

The express water ferry services between Kyungsu and Myeik have been temporarily suspended starting from 21 July to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 in Kyungsu township, Tanintharyi region.
Under the Township COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee Programme, the express water ferry services are being halted from 21 July to 25 July to make COVID-19 disease prevention and control more effectively. After the halted date, the water ferry service will resume with the limited passengers.
The relevant health departments and philanthropic organizations are raising awareness for COVID-19 at the terminal. The Ministry of Health and Sports has warned the public to follow the COVID-19 guidelines strictly. The ferry restarted in line with the COVID-19 health guidelines to have a good flow of trade for the locals from Kyungsu town. — Sithu Ya Aung (Kyungsu)/GNLM
