Indonesia hosted the 4th International Maritime Security Symposium (2021) via Hybrid Symposium Online and Offline system under the topic of “international maritime cooperation for security, peace and prosperity.”
The senior officials of Tatmadaw (Navy) led by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and Myanmar military attaché (Army, Navy, Air) to Indonesia, joined the meeting.
The Navy Chiefs from 54 countries, including international delegations and international maritime organizations, also attended the event.
First, the chief of staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Yudo Margono made an opening remark and launched the traditional dances of Indonesia.
On the first day of the meeting, the leaders exchanged views on the promotion of maritime cooperation, the collaboration of military and civilians to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 and delays, cargo ships and impacts on ports, the establishment of Asia sailing training and competitions, efforts for natural disasters and rescue works in Indo-Pacific area during the decade and plans to change disaster diplomacy in ASEAN regions as part of Indonesia’s foreign policy.
The officials of the Navy made a PowerPoint presentation under three panels during the seminar.
The 2nd day of 4th IMSS 2021 will convene today and discuss rules and regulations for military operations and intelligence activities in special economic zones, enhancing maritime security through information sharing and perspectives on maritime law for the use of unmanned vessels. — MNA
