Rakhine traditional wrestling contest marks 47th Rakhine State Day

The Rakhine traditional wrestling competition was held to commemorate the 47th Rakhine State Day yesterday in Sittway, Rakhine State.
The competitors at respective levels competed and the winners were awarded cash prizes and medals by Commander of the Western Command Maj-Gen Htin Latt Oo and Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min.
Cash prizes ranged from K3.2 million, K2.4 million, and K1.6 million for the first, second and joint-third winners of Gold Gong level and K2.4 million, K1.6 million and K1.2 million for those of Silver Gong level. It was reported that a total of 288 competitors at the Silver Gong level and 21 competitors at the Gold Gong level from Rakhine State participated in the competition which was held to commemorate the 47th Rakhine State Day. — Tin Tun (IPRD)/GNLM
