First dose of COVID-19 vaccine given to 86,846 people in Madaya

The first dose of COVID-19 vaccines was given to the people above 18 years old at Township Gymnasium and villages in Madaya Township, PyinOoLwin District, Mandalay Region yesterday.
The vaccination was administered by the township administration officers, staff from the Department of Public Health and General Administration Department, Ward and Village-tract administrators, township firefighters, teachers, and members of the Red Cross Brigade.
Up to 2 January, 86,846 people had been vaccinated for the first time and 53,440 people for the second time.
Those who have yet to be vaccinated will continue to be vaccinated, according to the township COVID-19 Disease Control and Emergency Response Committee.—Soe Kyaw Thu Htwe (Madaya)/GNLM
