K30 billion worth of ICE (Methamphetamine) seized in PyinOoLwin

A combined team consisting of members of the Anti Drug Police Force confiscated 1.5 tonnes of ICE (Methamphetamine) worth K30 billion during a search of a Hino vehicle driven by Aung Aung (a) Shwe Taw and accompanied by Aye Min Aung (a) Sanda and Kyaw Min (a) Min Min, at Nyaunggon checkpoint on the Mogok-PyinOoLwin road in PyinOoLwin, Mandalay Region, on the evening of 5 February.
According to the investigation, the police arrested Ma Moe Moe Aung who participated in trafficking drugs, by a Toyota Crown at the Watwun village joint-inspection station at 9 pm on the same day.
According to the statements of the arrested illegal drugs traffickers, they were transporting the narcotic drugs from Shan State (South) to the Myanmar-Thailand border in Kayin State. It is reported that action is being taken against them under the law and investigation is being continued to identify and arrest connected suspects, according to the Myanmar Police Force. — MNA
