Stimulant tablets seized across Myanmar

Combined teams consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force conducted search operations across the country and seized stimulant tablets in some townships.
On 2 March, Ma Kine Brein’s motorcycle was stopped by the police on the Lonekhin-Sankhar Road near Mazupyang village in Phakant Township, and 10,000 stimulant tablets were found and confiscated from her vehicle.
On the same day, the police arrested Saw Mai Awar, Ma Aye Thaung and Ma Lwin Mar Hlaing together with 10,000 stimulant tablets from their Honda Fit car on the Hpa-an-Eindu Road near Eindu village in Hpa-an.
In addition, a combined team consisting of members of the Sagaing Region Police Force searched the house of Ma Win Mar in Saobwa ward in Tamu and seized 78,000 stimulant tablets.
On 1 March, Moe Zaw Oo was arrested in South Myeik ward in Myeik together with 3,850 stimulant tablets during a search in his motorcycle.
It is reported that action is taken against the arrestees under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the Myanmar Police Force stated. — MNA
