ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR), Southeast Asian National Human Rights Forum (SEANF) hold online meeting

A virtual meeting of the AICHR and SEANF is in progress.

The ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) and the Southeast Asia National Human Rights Forum (SEANF) held a virtual meeting today.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from members of the forum, namely the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Timor-Leste, the AICHR Chairman and Member Representatives, Chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission U Hla Myint and members U Paw Lwin Sein and Dr Tin Maung Maung Than.
At the meeting, ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights Chairperson Mr Keo Remy gave an opening speech. The chair of the forum, the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines (CHRP), discussed the activities and developments following the first meeting of the SEANF Working Group in 2022.
After that, the Chairman of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) explained the activities and priorities of the AICHR being implemented in 2022-2023. At the meeting, the Chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission suggested ways for further cooperation between AICHR-SEANF.
Afterwards, the Chairmen of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) and SEANF made concluding remarks. — MNA
