Union Chief Justice joins 3rd China-ASEAN Justice Forum online

Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo virtually joined the third China-ASEAN Justice Forum, which aims to improve the mutual relations and judicial exchange and cooperation between China and ASEAN, held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China yesterday.
The forum was sponsored by the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China and hosted by the High People’s Court of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
At the opening ceremony, Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo, Mr Zhou Qiang, Chief Justice of the People’s Republic of China, Chief Justices of 10 ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretary-General presented special speeches.
Then, the leaders frankly exchanged views under the theme of establishing a High-Level Judicial Cooperation Platform to Jointly Build the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
The forum focused on a variety of topics including “Accelerate the Adaptation of New RCEP Economic and Trade Rules to Provide Judicial Services for Regional Trade and Investment”, “Enhance Intellectual Property Right Cooperation to Improve the International Protection of Intellectual Property Rights”; and “Promote Cross-Border Online Litigation to Provide Judicial Assistance for Pandemic Prevention and Control and Economic Recovery”.
They then approved and issued the Nanning Statement of the third China-ASEAN Justice Forum. — MNA
