MoCRD Union Minister U Hla Moe and party view round the Rainbow service cooperative society’s dairy cattle farm.

accompanied by Deputy Minister U Myint Soe, Permanent Secretary U Khant Zaw, the directors-general, personnel of the Cooperative Department and officials Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe reviewed the progress of cooperative societies on 25 July.
Firstly, the Union minister and officials observed the progress of the 2.7 acres farm, which was planted beside the department, the growing of GW 11 rice strain with the rope system, seeder system, scattered system and experimental planting of the monsoon rice by the Rainbow Service Cooperative Society.
Then, he visited the Rainbow service cooperative society’s dairy cattle farm. It has 22 Friesian dairy cows and producing 60 visses of milk a day. The milk is sold to Sanwady livestock and organic fertilizer-producing cooperative society. The Union minister inspected the cultivation of Napier grass, Mombasa grass and Evergreen grass on three acres of land to feed cows, and the production of nutritious corn pickle by the Nay Pyi Taw cooperative syndicate.
Afterwards, the Union minister viewed the construction of the messroom for staff, the farming of saffron carp, Hamilton’s carp, swamp barbs, tilapia and ducks in two fish ponds. Furthermore, he instructed them for making the business successful and ensuring employee welfare from profits.
The Union minister and party also observed the Rainbow cooperative society’s retail shop, it is reported. — MNA
