Shwedagon Pagoda board of trustees are seen on Maha Samaya Day on the full moon day of Nayon 1384 ME.

The ceremony of Garu Dhamma Day and observance of Five Precepts in the Buddhist Lent period will be organized at the Shwedagon Pagoda on 9 September on the full moon day of Tawthalin, 1384 ME, according to the pagoda board of trustees.
The event will be held at the ancient Buddha image prayer hall in the southern corner of the pagoda. On that day, the pagoda board of trustees, religious teams and staff will offer alms food to the pagoda, conduct a question-and-answer session regarding Garu Dhamma Day and recite the verses on Garu Dhamma Five Precepts.
Ovadacariya Sayadaw Bhaddanta Jagara, Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita of Mya Thein Tan Monastery will preside over the Five-Precept delivering ceremony at 9:30 am.
The Buddhists recognize the full moon day of Tawthalin as Guru Dhamma Day as the Buddha delivered the Guru Dhamma story. Guru Dhamma means keeping Five Precepts and good people should practise these precepts and so it is called Guru Dhamma Five Precepts. — TWA/GNLM
