7 Myanmar travel companies to take part in Moscow International Travel Fair

Seven Myanmar travel companies will participate in the International Travel Fair in March 2023 in Moscow, Russia, according to the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA).
The Moscow International Travel Fair will be held from 12 to 14 March 2023. Myanmar tour companies will present beauty spots and other tourist destinations in Myanmar with the help of video clips. In addition, there is a plan to invite Russian travel companies and representatives to Myanmar.
While meeting Mr Kosinkov Evgeny, Commercial Director of Yi Ling Tourism Company in Russia, in Nay Pyi Taw on 2 December, Union Minister Dr Htay Aung highlighted that tourism cooperation kicked off and all necessary measures will be coordinated as Myanmar is exerting to enhance friendly relations and cooperation in tourism with Russia.
Mr Kosinkov Evgeny pointed out that Russian tourists are travelling internationally by purchasing insurance and they would like Myanmar to ease the need to obtain additional insurance as well.
From 6 April to the end of October 2022, about 60,000 international tourists purchased travel insurance worth over US$3.8 million, according to Myanma Insurance.
There were a small number of Russian tourists who visited Myanmar in the past and about 5,000 Russian tourists entered Myanmar every year, according to the ministry’s statistics. – TWA/MKKS
