Yangon to celebrate Kayin New year Festival at National Races Village

People celebrated the Kayin New Year Festival 2016 at the Kayin Yard of Ahlon Township, Yangon Region.

The Kayin New Year Festival of Yangon Region will be held at the National Races Village on 22 December, according to the organizing committee.
The New Year festival used to be held every year in the compound of the Arlein Ngarsint Pagoda.
The Regional-level Kayin New Year Festival will be grandly observed with four programmes — the Kayin National Flag Hoisting Ceremony, the Kayin New Year commemorative talks, the Kayin traditional dance performance and the traditional food festival.
The Kayin New Year Festival will also be celebrated as usual at Hmawby, Taikkyi, Kawhmu, Htantabin and Dala townships where most of the Kayin nationals live. — TWA/CT
